Equipment and loot
Every victory gives you a drop to consider before the next fight. Choose bonuses that fit your hero and the way you type.

Five equipment slots
- Weapon: offensive effects and conditional damage.
- Armor: protection, health, recovery, and other bonuses.
- Class item: gear restricted to a particular hero.
- Trinket: an heirloom that can survive a full run.
- Ring: a second persistent heirloom slot.
Only one item fits each slot. The current catalog has dedicated class items for Knight, Rogue, Wizard, Evoker, Berserker, and Automaton. The other heroes still use shared weapons, armor, and heirlooms.
Tiers and scaling
There are five tiers. Encounter progression moves through bands of twenty levels, reaching tier V from level 81. Item base effects are authored at tier I strength. Positive bonuses scale by 1, 1.6, 2.4, 3.2, and 4.2; penalties grow more slowly. Some properties, such as critical multipliers, do not scale in the same way as bonus amounts.
Every item page shows its actual tier-scaled effects, so you do not need to multiply the displayed values again. Equipment names and flavor text do not replace the effect list when making a comparison.
Drops and tougher fights
Standard bosses have a 5% chance to replace their ordinary drop with a realm-family heirloom. Elites raise that to 10% and challengers to 15%. Elites and challengers add a boon. Guardians drop gear and offer their family's heirlooms separately when you move on. The prologue guardian's gear follows its own tier.
Loot-luck effects can improve a chest's tier. Compatible class restrictions and already-equipped exclusions affect the draw. Read the actual reward card before deciding to replace equipment.
Scouting and choices
Some offers reveal the spoils in advance; scouting effects reveal rewards more broadly. During a reward or route choice, bleeding waits for your decision. Compare the item's conditions against your hero rather than selecting solely by its tier.
What you keep
Weapons, armor, class gear, and boons belong to the current run. Heirloom collection, stars, and attunement form your continuing legacy in full runs. Heirloom progression explains the exceptions for Test runs and resets.
